Brigadier Javed Akthar Malik Among Victims of Bhoja Air Crash

Hyderabad Garrison’s Station Commander Brigadier Javed Akthar Malik and his wife (Abida Javed Malik)  were also travelling  on Bhoja Airline’s Boeing 737  which crashed near Benazir International Airport.  They were going for a family visit to Chakwal. He was posted in Hyderabad in October, 2010. They had one daughter and one son. His daughter, who lives in Hyderabad Cantt, left to attend her parent’s funeral in Chakwal while his son lives in Australia. Only a month ago, the Brigadier received a Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) on Republic Day.

Gentleman Cadet Nadir (now Lieutenant Nadir) of 125th PMA Long Course(Tipu Company) who is passing out from PMA tomorrow also lost jis father Abbas Ali Soomro who was coming to Islamabad en-route Abbotabad to attend the passing-out parade at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul died in the plane crash.

Abbas Ali Soomro was the owner of an ice factory, cement and hardware shops. He was the father of three sons and four daughters. He lived in Soomra Mohallah, near Badin Bypass Road. He was laid to rest on Saturday evening.

Lieutenant Nadir said he wished he had never come to Islamabad. He said that they will take his father’s body back to Badin for burial.

Brigadier (R) Muhamad Anwar Khan and Squadron Leader (R) Usman Rahim also became victims of this air crash.

      There son is a good friend of mine in Melbourne. In 23 years of my life I have never met a person who is as sincere and responsible as there son. I can imagine how great his parents were.
      May Allah give him and his sister the courage to overcome this grief. I will always remember uncle and aunty in my prayers until the day I die.
