Islamabad—On the directive of Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, the compensation cheques from PAF’s own Non-Public Funds were disbursed today to the affectees of Rashakae (Mardan) Air Crash, which took place near PAF Academy Risalpur few days ago.
Air Vice Marshal Syed Hasan Raza, Air Officer Commanding PAF Academy Risalpur handed over the payment cheques of Rs 0.425 Million to Mr Zafar and Rs 0.35 Million to Mr Niaz against the House & household damages of their respective houses. The damage assessment was carried by PAF’s Damage Assessment Committee.
The Govt of Pakistan pays Ex-Gratia compensation to the affectees of Air Crash / accidents from its Public Funds after the finalization of formal Board of Inquiry. As the Board of Inquiry will take sometime for completion, the Air Chief while taking into account the losses of Air Crash affectees, directed to pay 50% compensation immediately from PAF’s own Non Public Funds. Rest of the amount will be disbursed to the affectees sooner the Govt of Pakistan approves funds after finalization of Board of Inquiry.
PAF has also paid an amount of Rs 10,000/- each to 08 persons who received minor injuries. These minor injuries were treated free of cost at PAF Hospital Risalpur and CMH Nowshera.
